“Everyone on our entire team made comments about how calm things were on the pit box. Everyone realizes now maybe that's where we've gone wrong in the past. We've been too aggressive and too uptight. The patience paid off, and if we can carry that lesson through the season, we'll be shooting for a championship.”
“Everybody did his job. The pit stops were absolutely incredible. When they interviewed me on TV (late in the race), I told them that we had the best car and the best driver and he was in first. Why would I be nervous?”
“I just want to thank Chad for building this team the way he has. This job is very hard. Chad has always done a great job and he has trained me very well.”
“I just sat there and I just knew I had faith. When they interviewed me on TV, I told them we had the best car and the best driver out there and he was in first. Why would I be nervous?”
“Chad's leadership is second to none. We really miss that. But then, it's also given us a chance to expand on our roles. We get to grow within our positions, and it makes us a tighter team. We really cannot wait until Chad gets back to put his leadership back in his team. Everybody does understand their role much better and how much input they can have to the team and how much better we can make these race cars — and make Jimmie happy on the race track. You can see what Jimmie can do in the last two laps.”
